Split a gig
four ways.
$12.50 each.
You signed the lease. Now four of you need internet that survives a Sunday night when everyone on your floor is streaming. Here is what it actually costs, and who sets it up.
Xfinity plan
1 Gig, fiber-powered
$50/mo
5-year price lock · no contract · equipment and unlimited data included
Split 4 ways, that is $12.50 each.
The number that matters
$50 ÷ 4 = $12.50 per person, per month
One account, one bill, one router. How you divide it is between you — most houses put it on one person and settle up with the rest. Whose name should it be in?
Every plan, every price
No tiers you have to decode.
Four options. All of them include the WiFi equipment and unlimited data, and none of them lock you into a contract. The price you see is the price for five years.

Move-in week
Working on day one, not day nine.
Late August is the busiest install window of the year in this town. Tell us your move-in date and we will work backward from it.
-
Call or send the form
Two minutes. We confirm what is available at your address and what the real monthly total looks like with taxes.
-
We place the order and pick the install window
We book the slot with Comcast for you and tell you the arrival window rather than making you sit on hold for it.
-
Install day, and someone local to call if it goes sideways
If the technician cannot get in, or the router lands in the wrong room, you call us at the store — not a national queue.

Straight answers
The things you were about to google.
Does the price actually jump after a year?
Not on these plans. The $40, $45, and $50 prices are locked for five years — that is the whole point of the current offer, and it is longer than your lease. It does require autopay from a bank account and paperless billing. Taxes and fees sit on top of the plan price, so your real total is a few dollars higher; we will tell you the number before you agree to anything.
Do I need a credit check?
Comcast runs one for standard accounts. If that is a problem — no credit history yet, or an international student without a Social Security number — ask us about NOW Internet, which is prepaid and skips it. We would rather point you there than have you get declined on the phone.
Whose name goes on the account?
One person's. The account holder is responsible for the bill, which is why the fair version is that whoever's name is on it collects from everyone else on the first of the month. Pick the roommate staying longest on the lease.
If that person moves out mid-year, the account can be transferred — bring both people and an ID to the store and it takes a few minutes.
What happens when the lease ends in May?
There is no contract and no early-termination fee on these plans, so you can cancel or move the service to a new address. If you are coming back in August, moving it is usually simpler than cancelling and restarting.
Is my building already wired for this?
Most of the Champaign-Urbana apartment stock is. Some buildings include internet in rent, some have an exclusive arrangement, and a few older houses need a line pulled. That is exactly what the address check at the top of this page starts — we look it up rather than guess.
One form, one call back
Tell us where you are living.
We come back with what is available at that address, the real monthly total including taxes, and the earliest install date. No payment details here — ever.
- A local person calls you, not a call center
- We say no if a plan is wrong for your building
- Your information is not sold or shared
Got it.
- A local team member checks availability at your address.
- You get a call or text back — usually the same business day.
- If it looks good, we place the order and book your install window.
